Startup VS Corporate
Discover the Thrilling World of Startups: My Journey at Chiragh Education Technologies
Are you curious about what it's really like to work in an early-stage startup?
Wondering how it compares to the corporate world? Join me on a journey as I draw parallels between my experiences at Chiragh Education Technologies and my brief stint at A.F Ferguson, a member firm of the PwC network.
🚀 A Year in the Startup Universe
Almost a year ago, I embarked on a thrilling adventure at Chiragh Education Technologies, an early-stage startup with roots deep in innovation. Having previously spent a mere 3 months at A.F. Ferguson, my journey through the corporate landscape had barely begun when I decided to dive headfirst into the dynamic world of startups.
💼 Wearing Many Hats
In a startup, you wear multiple hats. It's like juggling a dozen balls at once. My role at Chiragh started as a Finance and Business Development Associate, but it quickly evolved into something far more exciting.
Thanks to my background in Digital Marketing, I was able to merge my finance skills with my passion for marketing, creating a hybrid role that was tailor-made for me.
📈 Climbing the Ladder
Within just a few months, I was promoted to the role of Commercialization Manager. This role allowed me to not only excel in finance and accounting but also actively participate in strategic planning.
I became the curator of social media presence, masterminded social media strategies, and managed to double our YouTube subscribers in just 20 days. Plus, I successfully reduced our cost per view by two-thirds.
📚 The Learning Path
One of the most rewarding aspects of working in a startup is the incredible learning path it provides.
In a mature company, you often have specialized teams for specific tasks. However, in a startup, you're pushed to explore beyond your comfort zone. It's a steep learning curve that's both challenging and fulfilling.
💰 The Trade-Offs
Of course, working in a startup does have its trade-offs. You might find yourself underpaid compared to corporate jobs, and some benefits like medical coverage may not be as comprehensive. However, the invaluable experience and knowledge gained can more than compensate for these sacrifices.
🌐 The Whole Cycle of Strategy
The beauty of working in a startup is that you get to experience the entire cycle of strategy development. Whether it's crafting a social media strategy, diving into e-commerce, or delving into financial planning, you become a crucial part of every decision and action.
👍 A Recommendation Worth Considering
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend considering a stint in a startup, even if you've dreamt of starting your own venture someday. The lessons, experiences, and the chance to shape a company's destiny are priceless.
Are you ready to step into the world of startups and embrace the exciting chaos?
Cheers to innovation, growth, and a world of opportunities!
